What participants learn
Field & Safety: glacier travel, crevasse awareness, cold-weather systems, comms & SAR basics.
Research & Tech: GNSS/AWS installs, GPR/UAV demos, data logging, simple QA/QC.
Leadership & Teamwork: trip planning, pre-mortems, risk controls, decision-making under uncertainty.
Story & Impact: science communication, Leave-No-Trace, and community outreach.
Program formats
Field Schools (Alps/Arctic): 5–14 days of skills immersion.
Weekend Clinics (ropework, safety, navigation).
Online Labs (research methods & career Q&A).
Expedition Placements (select mentees shadow professional ops).
